There is a lateral aperture (also called foramin of Luschka or lateral aperture of the forth ventricle) in each lateral extremity of the lateral recess of the fourth ventricle. The two lateral apertures (or foramina of Luschka), one on the left and one on the right, along with the median aperture, comprise the three openings in the roof of the fourth ventricle on the brain.
