Hermann Edler von Zeissl (September 22, 1817 - September 23, 1884) was an Austrian dermatologist who was born in the village of Vierzighuben, near Zwittau, Moravia.
Zeissl received his medical doctorate from the University of Vienna, and in 1846 became a medical assistant in the surgical and dermatological hospitals at the university. In 1861 he became a professor in Vienna, and in 1869 became head physician of the department of syphilis at the General Hospital Vienna. During his career, he was a leading authority regarding venereal disease.
