Lobeline is a molecule which binds VMAT2. It is a natural alkaloid found in "Indian tobacco" (Lobelia inflata), "Devil's tobacco" (Lobelia tupa), and Hippobroma Longiflora.

Lobeline has been used as a smoking cessation aid, despite no conclusive evidence of effectiveness.[1]

It is a nicotinic agonist.Dr.Linda Dwoskin, college of pharmacy, University of kentucky has done a commnedable work on lobeline.
