Pyritinol (or Pyrithioxin) is a strong synthetic antioxidant and nootropic.^{[citation needed]} Chemically, it is related to vitamin B6 compounds, such as pyridoxine. ^{[citation needed]}. It increases the brain's electrical firing rate^{[citation needed]} and boosts glucose metabolism.^{[citation needed]}

One small study with 12 subjects given pyritinol showed an improvement in performance on tests of reaction time, but not on memory tests.^[1]
