Pelvic floor muscle training in the early pregnancy may prevent urinary incontinence in the late antenatal and postpartum. Other effective measures for the primary prevention of urinary incontinence include increased physical activity and exercises, weight loss, smoking cessation, treating asthma and constipation, proper management during labor to avoid pelvic organ prolapse and urogenital injury.
